Hello Gorgeous! It’s McKenna, owner of Dolled Up Studios! A little about me, I am 27 years young! I am a mama to 2 girls, Harper Grace and Harlow Faith. I first became interested in the beauty industry the very last semester of my senior year of high school. To be honest, the year prior, I was on track to not graduating high school. I had hit a pretty rough patch in the road and it took a toll on my schooling. That’s when I really got into makeup tutorials/gurus on YouTube. Makeup quickly became an obsession of mine. To say makeup saved my life, is kind of dramatic but it’s 100% true. It became a way to release any sadness or anger. I then became interested in making it a career late my senior year and found a program called “esthetics” at Capri College in Waterloo and signed up immediately. I went from aspiring to be a pediatrician to wanting to be a makeup artist. I graduated from high school May 2015, started Capri July 2015 and graduated January 2016. I then started “Dolled Up by McKenna” where I freelanced (traveled and did makeup on location) makeup. My first year with my license, I worked 47 out of 52 weekends. During the summer of 2018 I came across a beautiful studio space right off Main St. in Cedar Falls. I fell in love right away. With the help of my fiancé and family, I was able to get the place put all together in less than a month. I opened “Dolled Up Studios” on July 1st, 2018 at the age of 21. My biggest dream came true. Since then, I have won the Cedar Valley’s Best of the Best Beautician/Barber for 2018, honoree in 2019 & 2020(S/O to my amazing clients/followers for nominating me), hired my wonderful colleague Brooke, got certified in volume lashes, microblading, and the first to bring YUMIlashes Keratin Lift to the Cedar Valley! I recently started offering Makeup & Moscato classes open to the public and lash, makeup, and brow training courses for other beauty professionals! I have so much more up my sleeve and can’t wait to see what the future holds! I also want to thank our amazing clients, past, present, and future. Without you, I would not be here. Cancellation Policy
We ask that you give at least a 24 hour notice for any cancellations or rescheduling so we can make an attempt to fill your appointment slot. If you do not give enough notice, any deposits/payments made will be forfeited and/or you will be charged via the card on file or emailed an invoice for 50% of the appointment. You may not be able to make any more appointments until the fee is paid. However, we do understand that emergencies, sickness, etc happens. Please try to notify us as soon as you know you’re not able to make your appointment and we can try to work something out. We hope you understand that we have these policies in place because this is how we make a living. Thank you 😊
